The aging population in the world growing rapidly.WHO reports that the individuals in the age limit of greater than 65 to become 2 billion by 2050 world wide.It is an alarming trend.This surge of aging population mainly in developing countries.By some years,the aging population cross the number of children below 5 years.It will be have major effects on health care delivery system.

Increasing old age people in the society means increasing the dependent individuals on others.It will be a huge financial burden to the countries because the large expenditure should be allocated to the welfare of the elderly but not getting productive earnings to the nation's exchequer.Geriatric persons are the most vulnerable section of the community,their healthcare and safety is a major concern.It will demand more and more new hospitals and other geriatric care centers for them.Life style diseases such as chronic hypertension.high cholesterol.cancers,diabetes mellitus etc are the prevalent diseases from which elderly suffer from.In some,these chronic conditions may develop into severe complications such as stroke,heart attack and other disabilities.The disabilities associated with these chronic conditions again bring much burden to the health delivery system.

Improved developments in health sector,now individual life expectancy may improve more than 65.This is why the increasing the aging population the society.By increasing needy elderly people,hospital and other health centers should be well equipped with adequate staffs and technicians,is again huge burden to the state exchequer.Increasing old age population is a major health change in every respect.It deviates much resource and time to the care for elderly.This may reduce the attention toward care for other categories. It is very important to cccupy hospital and other care centers with enough doctors,nurses,other paramedical staffs to meet the increasing demands of elderly.
