Identify the major anatomical components of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems and explain their functions.
Cardiovascular system:
Cardiovascular system contains heart, veins, arteries and blood vessels. Heart is called the pump machine of the body. Blood from the various parts of the body comes into the heart and then after purification the pure blood also spreads in the various parts of the body from heart.
Arteries: There are various types of arteries. The arteries take blood from heart and spread at the other parts of the body. Coronary artery provides blood to the heart. Renal arteries provide blood to the kidneys.
Chambers of the heart: There are four chambers in the heart. The two top chambers are left and right atria and two lower chambers are left and right ventricles. The carbon dioxide added blood enters into left chambers and pure blood spreads from right chambers.
Valves : There are various types of valves between atria and ventricles. During blood flow the valves open. There are antrioventricul valves and semi lunar valves. There are valves in the arteries.
Blood vessels: There are blood vessels and blood from the various parts of the body comes into heart through blood vessels.
Respiratory system: The respiratory system contains lungs, nose, trachea, larynx, main bronchi etc. It purifies breathe. The air enters into lungs through nose and wind pipe. There are bronchi and air is purified there. The bronchi takes oxygen and the oxygen is mixed with blood. The pure blood enters into heart from lungs. Again the carbon dioxide added air comes out from the body from lungs through nose and mouth. When air passes through wind pipe, trachea opens to allow the wind.

The respiratory and cardiovascular systems of vertebrate animals work in tandem to transport oxygen to metabolizing tissues and to eliminate carbon dioxide as a waste gas. Which of the following statements accurately describes how these systems interact for gas exchange? The premise of the question is incorrect. The cardiovascular and respiratory systems are completely independently regulated by the body, so that one does not affect the other The rate of oxygen transport by diffusion across the lungs must generally match...
