15. Immunity is referred to the body's ability to fight against the disease causing pathogens and foreign elements and provide a protection from ill health. Moreover, it is defined as the resistance possessed by the host to fight against the infections caused by external agents. There are two types of immunity that includes innate and adaptive immunity.

Innate immunity- The immunity that is biological derived and comes from genetic and institutional backup is known as innate immunity. this immunity is self-possessed by the child since birth. It is not acquired from nay past experiences and acts as first line deffence mechanism for human body.

Adaptive immunity- this kind of immunity is also known as acquired immunity that is adapted throughout the life by experience of external attacks. The lymphocytes and antigen presenting cells plays a major role in acquiring immunity when an infectious or foreign agent attacks the body from external source. Once this attack is validated the cells produce permanent antibody and stores it against the antigens that were exposed. In later stages of life when the similar infection occurs the body presents stores antibody and fights against the sources.

The major difference between two immunity systems is one is genetically present and another is adapted through experiences during life.
