Answer #1

Ans) Four ways to discover your own personal error patterns:

- Inaccurate observations:

we fail to observe things right infront of us, & mistakenly observe things that aren't so. Ex: Do you recall what your professor was wearing the 1st day of class? If you had to guess, what are your chances of being right?

- Overgeneralization:

we look for patterns among the specific things we observe, and often assume that a few similar events are evidence of a general pattern.
Ex: Sergeant asks Rookie officer to discuss major problems on the beat. Rookie officer speaks to one manager and is told that vandalism is the problem but then the other managers say its drug dealing & burglary.

- Illogical Reasoning:

EX: An evening of bad luck at poker may kindle the belief that a winning hand is around the corner & will keep the player from leaving the game. - Mistaken Belief Ideology & Politics.

- To ERR is human:

we are human - so even scientist can cause/make errors.
