Explain in very detailed medical answer of why we have to keep a person awake whenever they get overdose while they get high and like losing their consciousness? And is there any other thing that order us to keep a person awake besides overdose?

Whenever a person get overdose they get high and like losing their consciousness it is very important to keep them awake because of the following Reason

a) Helps in monitoring the condition of the person.

Since the person is awake he can tell about their condition .How they are feeling and what are the changes he is certain about.

b) a person who is awake he can tell about the medication which he received and the amount of the drug which was consumed by him . It is proved to be a great tool in determining the type of toxicity and level of toxicity. Determining the type of toxicity helps the medical professional to decide the antidote and also the dosing off the drug

c) There is possiblity of choking in unconscious person which lead to death

D) They might vomit which can reach to their lung after blocking airway.

E ) with sleep body function starts slowing down and may lead to death

F) Staying awake increase the vitals and prevent the body from collapse

Besides overdose it important to stay awake in Road traffic accident. Surviving gun shot injury .
