One of the overarching themes up to this point of the class is the idea that there are hidden or latent forces that influence us as individual. These latent forces are part of what sociologists study. Especially in Chapter 7, you begin to be introduced to the ideas of power holders or those who have ability to create the influences. Generally, normal every day citizens walk around living their lives without ever questioning why things are the way they are. We accept the status quo. We accept our positions in the economic structure. We accept the reasons that we have been given to explain our places in the society Typically, the "reason" we have been given by the social structure on why we either fail or succeed is because of "individual factors." Example, people are poor because they don't apply themselves or they lack something to allow them to succeed. Rarely in the US does regular every day Americans acknowledge that people might be poor because the structure itself does not permit for their advancement of their success but in the reverse is more inclined to keep a person either in the position they were born into or encourage downward mobility and not upward mobility. The question posed to the class for this mid-term discussion is: STEP 1: With what you have learned up to this point, create one to two sentences that describe how social structure, culture and social interaction all combine to create the social fabric in which we live? * For full credit on this discussion you need to provide at least one example on what you mean by your descriptions.

Social structure, culture and social interaction all play a very important role in creating the social fabric that we live in. An example would be someone born into a wealthy family that benefits from their family's socioeconomic status. This child is more likely to have the advantage of attending a highly ranked high school and being exposed to a family emphasis on the importance of a good education. These factors will make it more likely for him/her to get admitted into an elite college and get a good job after graduation.

how should I give him reply for this answer what should I reply him back ,?? the reply should be like this an example would be: “I agree with your post. I can see how the economic system is part of our social structure like you have indicated with example but I also think we can also clearly see how the structure is influencing us by Y because …”. this is just any example for you to understand .please help me

I totally align with your understanding on the influence of the social structure on the over all upbringing of the society and it clearly suggests how deep rooted our ethics and morals rest on the social strata. This society only teaches us the virtues of morality and all the things we are expected to do for it. But we should never forget that we are the true change makers of this system that the society has been following for over years now and we have the right to change and mould it whatever way that we want. We just need to be clear in what we want to bring change for and how that will have a positive impact on our society as a whole. We need to be loyal to the real virtues of humanity which are sympathy, empathy, compassion, kindness and Forgiveness. Our aim should be to improve our selves and all those that we meet or connect with during this journey. This is not a journey of an individual, it is of the society and its beliefs on a whole.
