Now that you have examined the Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies, why do you think these competencies were selected? Which two of the 10 competencies will be most important to your future nursing practice, and why?

Ans) 10 of these “Core Competencies” are centered toward one goal, the universal development of knowledge for future nursing care. We as health care providers are continually focused what is the best outcome for the patient. We can achieve this goal for our patient’s through our continued education in these competencies.

- The NOF Core Competencies are extremely important to streamlining how nurses experience education and learning, and in how we provide care to the patient’s we serve. The NOF Nursing Core Competency model provides a standardized and structured approach to learning how to best introduce all 10 of the competencies into our nursing care.

- If we can base the care we provide on these 10 competencies we can benefit the patient’s entire experience of the health care system. Out of the 10 Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies listed below I have chosen, evidenced-based practice (EBP) and patient centered care as the two most important competencies of my future nursing practice.

- Evidenced based practice is extremely important in my nursing practice. Everyday I work with the tiniest of patient’s. The smallest mistake or misjudgment results in a disastrous outcome for the patient and their families. We use evidenced based practice toguide the care we provide. We all want to take the safest possible road to recovery.
