The reason behind the fall in blue collar manufacturing jobs is that in the recent years people have started to focus on their education and thus improving their skills. Therefore, they start working in other manufacturing jobs which are better and reputed as compared to blue collar manufacturing jobs. The major reason behind this trend is globalization. Therefore, the graph shows a declining trend over the period of time. No, this declining isn't limited to US. Nearly all the countries of the world are undergoing development and globalization and thus experiencing such trends. It is believed that this falling trend is going to continue is the future and some other industries are going to take over.
