a. As given n1 = 25 and n2 = 11

We know in f test degrees of freedom (v) = n-1

So our 2 degrees of freedom are :-

v1 = n1 - 1 = 25 - 1 = 24

v2 = n2 - 1 = 11 - 1 = 10

So, We can look in the F-table with a = 0.01 and check for above degrees of freedom.

Here is the f-table :-

F Table for a = 0.01 F(df,df) I df = 1 2 5 6 7 8 9 10 12 15 20 | 24 304 0 df -1 4052.181 4999.500 5403.352 5624.583 5763.650We can see from the above table for 0.01 significance level that v1 is read on the horizontal side and v2 is read on the vertical.

We see and have marked that for v1 = 24 and v2 = 10 the critical F-value is 4.327 = 4.33 (rounded to two decimal places)

So, Critical F value is 4.33
