The steps used in making a decision includes the following

  • The first step is understanding to know about the problems and its associated factors for the cause and consequences. This s reffered to as identifying the decision to be made.
  • After this the information has to be collected in regards to the problems and then the planning has to be initiated
  • Search for any alternative to sort out the issue and alternative decision in advance
  • Assess the evidences available in regards to the decision makungand its benefits versus drawbacks
  • It is best to select one of the alternatives from the alternatives already formulated to be implemented
  • Implementation of the idea has to be done
  • Evaluation or reviewing the decision made to be fibe inorder to identify any errors and avoid it.

The nursing process is useful in the following ways

  • It helps to provide a systematized way of planning for care
  • Errors can be minimized
  • Continuity of care will exist between staffs
  • The patient can be actively involved in the care
  • The nurse will tend to take responsibility for their actions
  • Every nurse works towards their nursing process planned
