The word derives from the Greek word patominos which consists of panto, which means ALL and mimos which means ACTOR meaning a performer who acts all the roles in a story. The romans took on the style of performance using the word patominos in Latin in which also translated as imitator of everything as one actor took on every role just changing masks through out In united kingdom pantomime means a form of dramatic, dancing and musical comedy entertainment. Although the one actor concept has been dropped. It is a type of musical comedy stage production designed for the purpose of entertaining families too. Pantomime is generally performed during the Christmas season with many people and families in attendance. Soliloquy is a device often used in drama when a character speaks to himself or herself. Relating thoughts and feelings, thereby also sharing them with the audience .other characters however are not aware of what is being said. Soliloquies were frequently used in dramas but went out of fashion when drama shifted towards realism. Shakespeare's plays feature many soliloquies, some of which are Hus most famous passages. Perhaps the most famous is hamlets to be or not to be soliloquy where hamlet contemplates suicide.
