Informative Speech

Title : Wall Street

Specific purpose ; By the end of my speech, you guys will be able to explain why it is called a metonym for the financial markets of the United States.

Introduction :

Attention gainer:

The Wall Street symbolizes American capitalism as well as its geographical core. Wall Street is representative of all the financial processes guiding banks, hedge funds and stock traders in the USA. Wall Street is the financial district center in Manhattan. This stretches from Broadway to South Street eight blocks east-west. On Wall Street, 11 is the New York Stock Exchange. There are six other businesses in the area but all considered part of Wall Street. The branch is 33 Liberty Avenue. New York Federal Reserve Bank. On 1 Liberty Place is the NASDAQ OMX. Goldman Sachs is 200 West Street and 200 Park Avenue is JPMorgan Chase.

Wall Street covers the stock exchange, the bond market, the asset market and the futures market. The original goal of the stock market was to raise funds to expand, benefit and create employment for companies. By itself, stock trading has become so lucrative that trades are made for almost anything you can think of, and you can never imagine a lot of things.

The Wall Street is an eight block street from Broadway to South Street, East River, Lower Manhattan Financial District, New York City, running approximately north-west to south-east. Over time, this word has become a metonym for the United States 'financial markets as a whole, the financial services industry (including financial companies not physically located in the US) and financial interests concentrated in New York. The city was founded on the Wall Street, and it is the world's two biggest stock exchanges with total market capitalisation, The New York Stock Exchange, which is both the economically more powerful and the world's largest financial centre.

Crashes of Wall Street

Bear Stearns, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers were among the seven biggest Wall Street corporations in the 2000s. In the 2008-10 recession many of these businesses, including Lehman, quit business or were purchased by other financial firms at fire rates. Lehman filed for bankruptcy in 2008, JPMorgan Chase was acquired by the American government and Bank of America purchased Merrill Lynch at a similar wedding of weapons. In 2008, Lehman filed for bankruptcy. Via restructuring and transition, these failures have resulted in a disastrous downward trend of Wall Street.

Backstory and Conclusion

The New York Stock Exchange required brokering companies to have their "Wall Street Cluster" office, so that clerks would be able to produce actual paper copies per week of inventory certificates. Some signs were that already by 1911 the city center had become the locus for financial services transactions. But as the technology evolved, computers and telecommunications replaced paper alerts in the middle and later decades of the 20th century, meaning that in more cases the need for close proximity could be circumvented. Many financial companies found they could move to or elsewhere in downtown Manhattan and still work effectively.

Wall Street is political and economic force in a philosophical context. It can sometimes reflect elitism and politics of power for Americans and its position has been a source of controversy throughout the history of the country, particularly in the late 19th century around the Gilded Age. Wall Street has become the emblem of a nation and economic structure established by trade, entrepreneurship and innovation by many Americans. Wall Street became synonymous, sometimes negatively used, with financial interests. The Wall Street financing was blamed as one catalyst in the 2007–10 subprime mortgage crisis, but most of the remarks were to blame for the factors interplaying.
