- The word epidemic is defined as the widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time.S

2) Plague was  known as the black death.

3) Cholera -

Cholera is an infectious disease that cause severe watery diarrhea which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated. It is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio Cholerae.

CAUSES-

  • Transmission - transmission is through fecal-oral route of contaminated food or water caused by poor sanitation.

SYMPTOMS-

  • Dehydration
  • rapid heart rate
  • loss of skin elasticity
  • dry mucous membrane
  • low blood pressure
  • thirst
  • muscle cramps
