Lucy is the owner of a consulting firm. Her firm is awarded a contract to act as interim HIM director for Community Hospital Organization. This organization has always outsourced its ROI (release of information) services. Lucy's company is technically a competitor of the ROI company. The interim director's consulting firm submitted bids to the previous director for the ROI contract. They did not win the contract due to their pricing structure. Lucy is the interim director and now has access to the contract language for the existing ROI contract. Suddenly. Ethel, the director of the ROI company receives a 30 day notification that their services will no longer be used at Community Hospital Organization. Answer #1

A notification period of very short time of just 30 days can be a challenge and ethical violation. These types of services to be stopped should be notified already 60 to 90 days in prior .A very short time can lead to loss of the particular job by particular workers which can make them fall a prey for financial crisis all of a sudden. There will not be adequate time for making decision and providing options to the employees when there is no contract all of a sudden.
