Eye is the sense organ that involves in vision. It is located in the bony cavity named orbit. The outer covering of the eyeball consists of white layer called sclera. Light normally enters the eye through the cornea. Lens is a transparent layer located in the cornea that involves in refracting light and make light to focus on the retina. Lens consists of three layers namely lens capsule, lens epithelium and lens fibre.

Cataract refers to formation of opacification in the lens of the eyes. The clumps forms on the lens that results in hinderance of light refraction to the retina. It commonly occurs during old age that results in denaturation of the proteins present in the lens, excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays, trauma, secondary to radiation therapy.
