Answer #1

In my case i prefer standard safety margin and is defined as the zone between the surely effective dose and the lowest lethal dose.It is expressed as a percent of the surely effective dose. The median therapeutic index is 5.24 and the standard safety margin is 105 percent. The margin of safety formula is calculated by subtracting the break even sales from the budgeted or projected sales. This formula shows the total number of sales above the break even point. In other words, the total number of sales dollars that can be lost before the company losses money.

In the last problem, you were determining if the new cancer drug was better than a placebo. Now you want to determine the probability for a Type II error (accepting the null hypothesis even though it was false). If the difference in mean tumor reduction between actual and placebo was in reality ∆0 = 7.5% 1. What is the probability you would mistakenly conclude there was no difference? Use the information from problem 2. Provide a confidence interval (with α...

Recent studies support the potential of a drug that is derived from the metal iridium to effectively treat cancer. This experimental drug, Drug ZL105, has not been tested for efficacy and toxicity. Imagine that you are the one responsible for approving or denying the use of this drug within the United States. Your job is to propose the testing that is needed for this drug to be determined as safe and effective for the treatment of cancer in humans. In...
