Jitender is a hard working and likable young man who just took a job with an international import company in New York City. At the age of 14, he and his family immigrated to the United States from Mumbai, India. He finished growing up as an average American kid in New York City, graduated from NYU and then completed a business degree at Columbia. The import company considers him quite a find. He speaks fluent Hindi, understands the Indian culture and is willing to travel. However, upon returning from a recent trip to India, he felt short of breath and weak. As Jitender put it, “His get and go just got up and went.” Also, there was pain and swelling in his right calf. His wife, a nurse, insisted he see a doctor immediately. Expert Answer

According to the given scenario

1) Young and healthy jitnder is suffering from a condition called deep vein Thrombosis . It generally happen due to slow circulation of the blood.

Although it is seen in people after 50 but it can be seen adults also . There may be hereditary cause to it.

Embolism can also occur in such a short time span

Qn 2): people are great risk of DVT

1) obesity . These are remain stationary for longer duration which decrease blood flow low and endothelial injury lead to clot formation.

2Pregnancy

In pregnancy women remain sitting for longer duration of the time or even under 6 weeks of postpartum the don't move much so there is decrease in blood flow .

3 ) family history : if the person posses family history of DVT it is likely to happen. Because of same lifestyle.

The term used to describe pathological clot is thrombus.
