Given

Order:Naloxone

Dose:0.02mg(20mcg=1000×0.02)

Availability:1mg/ml (1000mcg/ml)

Concentration:10mcg/ml

So 20mcg=2ml of the concentration solution

To calculate the total diluent

Given

When 10mcg=1ml

Then 1000mcg=??ml

Cross multiply and divide

=10÷1000×1

=10÷1000

=0.01ml

So 10mcg=0.01ml

So 1000mcg=??

=1000×0.01÷10

=10÷10

=1 ml for 1mg/ml

The total diluent to be added is 1ml
