Plasma osmolality and ADH secretion
' when the plasma osmolality increases , ADH is secreted and urine output decreases' .
( the answer that you gave is correct. )
Plasma Osmolality :
Osmolality is the molality of an ideal solution that would exert the same osmotic pressure as the solution being considered. Plasma osmolality indicates the measurement of body's electrolyte - water balance . Plasma osmolality is proportional to the number of solute particles in solvent ( per kilogram).
ADH ( Anti diuretic hormone): It is hormone secreted by hypothalamus in the brain and it regulates the water reabsorption in the kidney, there by conserving the water in the body.( Anti diuretic means ' against or stops increased urination ' ).
Plasma osmolality increases during dehydration ( water less, more solutes). This inturn stimulates the secretion ADH . ADH will increase the water reabsorption in the kidney tubules, resulting in decreased urine production .
when plasma osmolality (increases, decreases), ADH is secreted and urine output (increases, decreases) I put increased...
Highlight or circle an answer. 1. Ingestion of 20 oz water ( increases / decreases ) plasma osmolarity, which in turn ( increases /decreases ) plasma [ADH], leading to ( increased / decreased ) water retention by the kidney and increased water loss via the urine. This would be measured as an increase in urine volume and a(n) ( increase / decrease) in urine osmolarity. 2. Ingestion of 4 g of NaCl ( increases / decreases ) plasma osmolarity, which...
Under the influence of the pituitary antidiuretic hormone (ADH): A urine volume decreases. B potassium ions maintain the plasma volume and water balance. C the reabsorption of water is inhibited. D water molecules migrate away from the sodium ions in the blood.
ADH levels increase when an individual's plasma has become too dilute, and the insertion of aquaporins permits movement of water from the medullary interstitial fluid into the urine. True or False
osmoreceptors may be stimulated when a) anti-diuretic hormone decrease b) blood volume increases c) serum osmolality inceases d) serum sodium decreases.
If the equilibrium price decreases and the equilibrium output increases then what must have happened? a. Demand decreased b. Supply decreased c. Supply increased d. None of these because an increase in output would not happen if price increases e. Demand Increased

Which one of the following statements is true? Throughput contribution is not increased when non-bottleneck output is increased. a. The elimination of defects always increases productivity. b. Non-bottleneck operations should be refined for high efficiency before starting on bottleneck improvement because non-bottleneck operations are generally easier to correct and improve. С. d. Quality and time are seldom related in service industries. The elimination of defects always decreases revenues. е.
