How body adapts to the stress

Stress is an external or internal situation that endangers physiological or psychological wellbeing of an individual by making his resources limited to deal with the situation.

adaptation is a process by which human body response to adverse events and try to achieve hemostasis by internal biological or psychological processes.

human body adapts to stress and can be explained with general adaptation model. According to which , body perceives stress in alarm stage, sympathetic nervous system prepares the body for fight and flight action. Then body underwent exhaustion by using its resources. It maintains its hemostasis with the action of parasympathetic nervous system.

for example, when there is dog chasing a man, he percieves a threat and tries to run at the max he can and his sympathetic system comes into work, making him breathe fast and pump heart more. Then man develops fatigue and then parasympathetic system brings homeostasis to the body by lowering heart rate and respiratory rate.
