Health problems including malnutrition, drug abuse, alcoholism and chronic infection commonly associated with homelessness. Homeless people get many standard benefits and services through convalescent and respite care for their recovery from illness, but if the homeless person is severely ill they should not return to regular shelter settings. When there is more intensive treatment needed and a person is a chronically ill local hospital can be used as it funded for homeless through human resources administration, volunteers and charities.
