Ans) HIPAA helps to ensure that any information disclosed to healthcare providers and health plans, or information that is created by them, transmitted, or stored by them, is subject to strict security controls. Patients are also given control over who their information is released to and who it is shared with.

- The goal of EMTALA is to ensure that any person with an emergency medical condition will receive reasonable evaluation and stabilization in any emergency room in the country before they are transferred. It's important for physicians to understand that their medical malpractice insurance does not cover EMTALA fines.

- The Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) strives to increase awareness of asthma among health professionals, health authorities, and the general public.

- The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, nicknamed the Recovery Act, was a stimulus package enacted by the 111th U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama in February 2009.
