Concentration of IV bag in hand= 2 gm/500 ml

= 2000 mg/500 ml ( as 1 g= 1000ml)

= 4mg/ml

Ordered lidocaine= 2 mcg /min

= 120 mcg/ hr (1 mg = = 1000 mcg

= 0.12 mg/hr

4 mg in 1 ml

Then 0.12 mg will be in= 0.03 ml

Hence ordered lidocaine infusion in ml/ hr = 0.03 ml/hr

Infusion rate in gtts/min= ( total volume in ml/infusion time) X drip rate in gtts/ml

= (500/60) X 60

= 500 gtt/min

= 8.5 gtts/second
