According to BMI for age Growth chart children and adolescents are categorised as overweight when their weight is above the 85th percentile.

BMI can be calculated using the formula:

BMI = Weight in kg/ Height ( in meter square).

According to BMI for age growth chart, Children and adolescents whose BMI is between 5th and 85th percentile considered as healthy, above 85 th percentile is overweight and above 95th percentile is obese.
