The area of physical examination is heart and neck vessels.
The consent was taken from my younger brother of 27years old. Neck vessel carotid artery palpation.
Palpation:
Palpated the artery one at a time on the lower half of the neck using index and middle finger. I asked for tenderness and he answered he is not feeling any pain or tenderness. Contour and amplitude were Bilateral, with contour smooth and amplitude moderate.
Auscultation
Asked to breath and exhale and hold it and held the bell at the angle of jaw and mid clavicle and heard no bruits.
NECK VESSEL JUGULAR VEIN PALPATION
The jugular pressure was less than 2cms.
Hepatojugular reflux test- the rise and fall of the pulsation was equal
Precardium inspection
Inspected the pericardium and observed for the apical impulse when visible it occupies the 4th and 5th intercostal space at the mid clavicular line. No heaves and lifts present.
Palpation:
Placed the fingerpad and Palpated the apical impulse and asked the person to deep breath exhale and hold it. The impulse was felt. The base of the fingers were used for rest of the chest and no vibrations or the cat throat murmers present.
Heart sound auscultation
The heart sound S1 and S2 heard with no murmers. Rhythm is normal with 78beats per minute.
