Peripheral vascular examination is the examination done in order to check and understand the presence of any signs and symptoms of any pathological features in the peripheral vascular disease. The peripheral vascular system includes arteries, veins and lymphatics and lymph nodes.

Here I have chosen one of my friend for doing assessment.

The subjective data is: person says; " sometimes I have pain and numbness in the fingers even though I don't do much of work".

The objective data states , the patient feels pain on the fingers and feels numb very often.

Assessment:

All the necessary equipmets required for the assessment of the peripheral vascular system was prepared.

Expalin the procedure to the patient.

Take the consent from the patient.

Wash the hand.

Make the patient lie down in a comfortable position.

Assessment of the patient was started with blood pressure measurement in an organized way.: Starting from carotid artery to the upper and lower extremities.

Inspection:

No colour change or cyanosis was observed.

No muscle wasting or ulcers were seen.

Asessed the pressure areas and between the toes for pressure ulcers.

Palpation:

Checked for the pulse and capillary refill time .

Also checked for warm or cold skin.

Hommans sign is checked.

Manual compression test was done in order to check for vericose vein.

Palpation on pulses were done in order to check.

Auscultation:

Auscultation for the bruit sound over the small and large arteries was done.

Berger's test is done.

Findings:

No particular abnormal findings was made on the patient related to peripheral vascular system.
