15y M in clinic with chief complain of fever , nausea, vomittin, poorly localized abdominal pain , arthralgias, and “swollen lymph nodes”. Fever 102F. parent thought he had flu and was taking to urgent care where he was giving Tamiflu and sent home. He says Tamiflu didn’t seems to work. States slight sore throat a couple weeks ago and attributed it to the flu. Physical exam reveals thin young man who appears to be uncomfortable but not acutely ill. Posterior pharynx reddened and tonsils 3+ without excudate. +anterior cervical lymphadenopathy. he was diagnosed with acute Rheumatic heart disease.

Question : Explain how a positive strep test has caused the patient symptoms

Patient who is suffering from positive Streptococcus pyogenes.Positive strep throat indicates that presence of GAP a bacteria which is the cause of strep throat.This positive gram bacteria causes several infections in humans which include Rheumatic heart disease causes ca rheumatic fever,swollen lymph nodes,tonsilitis,anterior cervical lymphadenopathy.This symptoms and positive strep test indicate that the patient is suffering from streptococcus pyogenes or group A streptococcus.
