Purpose of the study:

The purpose of this study is to find out the mean response time by which a nurse responds to the patient call lights. This study is a measurementof the work performance of the nurses.

Data collection:

Patient uses a call light to inform nurse for assistance. Nurses respond by attending the patient need. The hospital has an automated responder 5 S system which collects the data such as the time at which call light was on, time by which nurse attend the patient. The number of samples size is 45.

Study results:

Study interpretation:

The response time during night shifts is consistently shorter than the day or evening shift. Day time response tims is longer and then comes the evening shift.
