2)Sunscreen when used as per the directions of health care professionals can lower the risk of skin cancer. Regular use of SPF15 sunscreen can reduce risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. Choose a broad spectrum sunscreen which protects you from UVA and UVB radiations.
As i work in a outdoor environment i feel it is better to have the sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Look for daily use seal of recommendation. SPF 15 is good for daily use occasional exposure to sun.
Researchers has found a novel sunscreen which has anti malanoma activity. It has eight dibenzoyl methane derivatives having both sunscreen and cytotoxic activity.
3)When natural sunlight hits the skin it will helps in the formation of vitamin D by the body. This helps to stronger the bones, better sleep, improves mood and healthier immune system.
Exposure to sun can cause skin cell to die, damage or devolop cancer. Skin will turn red when exposed to aun due to increased blood flow. Hot skin, burns and itchy or tight skin are other effects. Our body has the way of shedding the dead cells otherwise called as peeling due to sun exposure. Melanin protects our skin and it will also creates vitamin D. When the body defends itself against UV rays the skin tans. Too much exposure to UV can damage inner layers of skin leading to sun burn.
4)Tanning beds are not safer than the sun. They can increase the risk of getting skin cancer. Most of the tanning bed emit the radiation called UVA. Exposure to IVA can cause premature aging of skin, causing wrinkles and age spots. They increase the risk of melanoma and other skin cancers.
