Vaccine Fears

A new mom is coming in with her 2 month old for their first vaccinations. Mom is hesitant about having you give the injections because of all the media hype about autism. How would you explain to her that the vaccinations are safe for the baby? What vaccinations would be given for a 2 month old? When will the baby have to come back for the next round of vaccinations?

How would you explain to her that the vaccination are safe for the baby?

We have tell about the importance of immunization and disease prevention to the mother,when the vaccination is given for the specific disease,we prevent the disease to the children and vaccination would be given as per the schedule provided by universal immunization schedule.

What vaccination would be given for 2 month old?

Pentavalent vaccine-(dpt)diptheria, pertussis,tetanus,hemophilus influenza b,inactivated polio vaccine.this vaccine is given by intramuscular and dose is 0.1 ml and site is anterolateral aspect of mid thigh.

When will baby have to come back for the next round of vaccination?

At 4 months ,next round of vaccination will be given.pentavalent booster dose,pnuemococcal conjugate vaccine and rota virus.
