Answer: The principle of utility and Felicific calculus to contemporary moral issues like abortion, euthanasia or prostitution could be applied as these provides the moral worth as well as action which could contribute to utility to the overall case. The principles of utility involves the moral action such as in the case of euthanasia, the patient becomes unable to bear more pain and hence want relief from this pain. So, the principle of utility can be indulge to reduce the pain. It is a moral action which can set free the patient. This action which is solely determined as the action which is moral worth. Whether it is case of abortion or prostitution, the indulgence of principles can reduce the disparities. These principles provides the base by providing ethical and moral support. In the case of abortion, such as when there is complications, abortion can be performed. This could be the action of utility which provides benefits for both the mother as well as the unborn child. Felicific Calculus could measure the amount of the pleasure or the benefits the action could provide in the ethical dilemmas or problems. Hence the consequences from a particular action could have judgement on the basis of valid moral support.
