The client has a recent history of shingles and is in the convalescent stage of illness. The client's skin is very dry: his oral temperature is 100.4° F. 1. suceptible factors- 1. old age- age over 50 years are particuarly prone for infection,2.stage of illness - in this stage the patient is more suceptable to infection,3. dry skin /dehydration -which peels of easily can get infected if not taken care properly,4.stress / trauma is also a factor .

2. old age- low immunity and other co morbid conditions make the suceptale to infection,

stage of illness- convalascent stage where your body immunity is low and has poor nutritional status along with dehydration.

dryskin - peels of easlily and exposed to surroundings can easily get infected.

stress/ truama- can be due to dehydration and other factors cause alteration in already compromised immune system lowering it further which causes infection prone.

3. cleaning and cleanliness in one’s self and environment that reduces the number of pathogens and the means of their growth and transfer (not utterly removing pathogens).

Examples: hand washing, wearing gloves, gowns, and bathing.

4. eliminating pathogens (including viruses) and spores completely from a surface of concern. That makes sense as in surgery, internal organs and blood vessels are exposed to any small number of microorganisms for infection and proliferation.

Surgical asepsis= medical asepsis + sterilization techniques.

Examples: Autoclave of surgical instruments, sterile gloves, and well-preserved environment (Operating Room).
