The most common feature of acetaminophen toxicity is liver failure. It is the most common drug used in the everyday situation, and the toxicity may be purposeful when the person takes more tablets to harm himself and non-purposeful if he takes tablets which has more than the recommended dose. The usual recommended dose is 4gm per day for adult and 90mg/kg/day for children.

The symptoms of liver failure will appear after 1 to 2 days initially it will be gastric disturbances

The main symptoms include abdominal pain, jaundice, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting

The toxicity may be high in case of patients who were consuming alcohol.
