Intrapersonal level is the most basic level of health promotion. Other levels including groups, organisations, community, and nations are composed of individuals. Interpersonal level focus on factors characteristic to individual like knowledge, attitude, beliefs, self concept, past experience etc. Intrapersonal health promotion practice focus on stages of chabge modern concern individuals readiness to change towards health behaviour. It also addresses the person’s threat of health problems and recommend behaviour for management of problems.
Interpersonal theory assums that individual exist within environment where other’s thoughts, advice, assistance and emotional support affects their own feelings, behaviour and health. Interpersonal health behaviour include devoloping an understanding of interactions though the dynamics of relationships are part of this framework. Individual experience and perception of their environment in combination with their personal characteristics are also included. Social learning theory (SLT) that address the psychological factors that determine health behaviour and strategies to promote behaviour change.
Community level health promotion is the heart of public level health promotion. By this a collective well being of community can be produced by creating structures and policies that support healthy life styles and by eliminating hazards in social and physical environment. They are the framework for understanding how the social system functions and changes, also how the communities and organisations can be activated.
