Answer #1

CRI to start is 3mg/kg/hr

The iv fluid rate is 100ml/hr

Drug concentration is 50mg/ml

Now convert pounds to kg each pound is 2.2kg

So 82/2.2= 37.2 so 37kg

Now take the kg and multiply by dose

37×3 mg= 111mg/hr

Now divide the no of hours in a day to get per hour rate

111mg/day/ 24hrs/day = 4. 62 so round it to 5mg/hour

Next divide the concentration

5mg/hour/50 mg/ml = 0.1/hour

Now divide how many hours this bag will last based by taking the amount of fluid in the bag divided by current fluid rate

1000ml/100ml=10hours of iv fluids/bg

Lastly take the number of hours this bag will last and multiply by the ml/hour

10hours× 0.1ml = 1ml

Therefore 1ml /1000ml to be added.
