Answer #1

ANSWER.

* Calculation of amount of fluid received by the client in one hour.

      Order : 500 ml of D5W /4hr along with gentamicin(80mg) in 50cc NS in 30 min.

            Flow rate of D5W in one hour = Total volume(ml) / infusion time(hr).

                          Total volume = 500 ml.

                                     Time = 4hr.

                        Flow rate = 500 / 4

                                    = 125 ml /hr.

             Flow rate of gentamicin in 50cc NS = 50 ml / 30 min.

                So

                  Amount of fluid recevied by the client in 1 hr = 125 + 50

                                                                                              = 175 ml.
