Personal branding is an essential element for marketing yourself and the skills that make you successful. According to Khedher (2014), "Individuals involved in personal branding develop their human capital by investing in continuous learning; enhance their social capital through visibility and notoriety and access to financial success and economic profitability."

Personal branding allows you to stand out from the crowd by projecting a positive image, behavior and actions. Prior to beginning this assignment, please review the video below and reflect on your personal experiences. Think about the most professional person (fictional or real) that you know. What characteristics make them stand out? After completing these tasks, you must write a personal brand statement.

Branding refers to the marketing concept and tools and can be referred as the professional reputation. Personal branding is the process of establishing target and goals in front of audience, brand statement is distinctive to each. it can be stated as the sum of unique values.

Personal brand can guide the career goals for this one need to be proactive and field work is neede before stating with any project.

Brand building can be done through :

  • Approaching the new competition and consumers
  • Empathy – Who is the audience and what are their feeling, process and their engagement
  • Advocating  – Let the people speak
  • Investing – Money on transaction is needed
  • Being Curate – Most relevant way to approach the client

Example : Jim McDowell, Vice president of marketing at BMW. BMW’s strategy is to keep its products in the introduction and growth stages by periodically introducing new models in each of its product lines. In fact, BMW does not like to have any products in the maturity or decline stage of the product life cycle. They work hard at managing their growth aspect and keep products in the introductory and growth stages, BMW regularly introduces new models for each of its series to keep the entire series “new.”
