Considering all we know today about HIV//AIDS, do you believe a physician should have the right to refuse certain patient cases based on a patient's diagnosis? Conversely, should patients have the right to refuse to be seen by healthcare providers who are HIV+ or have AIDS (not that this protected health information would be available, but think about it!)

Answer: Although physicians and healthcare professionals have the right to refuse to treat the new patient in case they are incapable to treat but in the case of HIV/ AIDS healthcare professional should not refuse to treat the patient until and unless the physician knows that he can handle the case of severity. This is because healthcare professionals have many legal, ethical responsibilities and they should treat the patient as it is their duty.

It depends upon the patient wish and will that he wish to be treated with HIV positive healthcare professional or not. But this could be the bias condition if the patient did not want to be treated with the HIV positive healthcare professional. Patient has little knowledge about many diseases, so due to unawareness patient may refuse to get any kind of treatment from HIV positive professionals of healthcare.
