DIFFERENCES BETWEEN INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES:

INPATIENT SERVICES requires the patient to be admitted in the hospital for close monitoring before, during and after the procedure whereas OUTPATIENT meaning the procedure does not require any hospital admission. It may also be performed outside the hospital.

An inpatient care needs hospital stay and maintains a records of care conducted on the patient by the hospital authorities while the Outpatient leaves the hospital after consulting with a doctor and no documentation is maintained.

The inpatient gets discharged only after he is cured of his diseases. The seriousness of the diseases is very high in this type of patients but in case outpatient services these process does not be valid because the injury is not very high.
