Answer: The most common cause of patient falls are:

• Loss of memory
• Weakness
• Alzheimer's disease
• Dementia
• Poor vision
• Age

The loss of memory could be a reason of fall as patient are unable to balance themselves or can remember the pathway to walk. This may cause falls problem in the patients having low memory power.

Some of the disease such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia etc are the secondary cause of the falls in the patient. As people grow old they become weak, looses their balance. This is also a major cause of falls. The poor vision that is patient is being unable to see clearly or unable to see get easily fall.

The falls can be prevented by various means such as minimising the motion of the people suffering from poor vision loss of memory. Making the proper pathway in the room such as shifting the furniture to one corner so that it may reduce the risk of fall. Keeping an eye on the older patient regarding what they want and making them use to directions and homes.
