Answer #1

Answer :

1. The expected f2 genotypes are 9 unique genotypes.

Expected genotypes and phenotypes arrays from two unlinked genes, considered jointly are the product of the supperate genotype and phenotypes arrays. For example when A gene and B gene considered jointly, there will be a 3 × 3 or 9 genotypes.

2.f2 phenotypes are 9 height classes.

3 Chapter 7-Multifactorial Traits Height in a particular Martian biped rodent, the zwoof, is controlled by two different loci on two differernt chromosomes. The trait obeys a "simple additive loci model" The recessive alleles a and b each contribute 2 inches of height. The dominant alleles . A and B each contribute 6 inches of height .Therefore, a zwoof that is homozgous tall (AABB) at each locus is 24 inches tall. A zwoof that is homozygous dwarf (aabb) is 8...

The results for the F2 progeny are shown for a F1 cross using the two X-linked markers: w+ and m+. As shown in the figure, the F1 cross is between the following two parents: - a phenotypically wild-type (red eye, full wing), heterozygous female: w+m+/wm - a double mutant male (white eye, miniature wing): wm/Y Answer the following questions: 1) In the F1 cross, can you infer the genotype for the phenotype in the female? Why or why not? 2)...

You are working with an ornamental fish that shows two color phenotypes, red or blue. The color is controlled by a single gene. These fish are hermaphrodites-meaning they can either (1) self-fertilize or (2) mate with another fish. You have three fish: fish 1, fish 2, and fish 3. While working further with this fish, you discover one other mutation (in a different gene) that leads to the recessive phenotype of long dorsal fins. Further research establishes that the genes...
