Due to a hectic schedule, he finds it difficult to exercise during the week, but bikes on the weekend, and occasionally swims laps at a local gym. Both parents had a history of hypertension, and his brother experienced a heart attack at 45 years of age. At a recent physical exam, his BP and fasting labs were as follows:

BP: 135/98

Total cholesterol: 198 mg/dl

LDL: 164 mg/dl

HDL: 26 mg/dl

TG: 195 mg/dl

Glucose: 148 mg/dl

A typical day of meals includes:

Breakfast

2 cups coffee with cream and sugar

bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon

Lunch

Deli sandwich (alternates between turkey, ham, tuna)

on white bread with mayo

Diet Coke

Dinner

(often dinner business meetings)

steak (loves red meat!), baked potato with sour cream and butter

tossed salad with bleu cheese dressing

roll and butter

cocktail or wine

Before Bed

glass of red wine

handful of peanuts or pretzels

Evaluate Mr. D’s physical data,

Physical data mainly include height 5’9” (175cm), 239lbs (108.4kg) so the BMI will be 35.4 , that will come under obese

Also the BP of his is 135/98, it is hypertensive

lifestyle,

he had the lifestyle of using cigarettes per day and usually drinks 1 glass of red wine and he will exercise at the weekend, he had an hectic work schedule and very busy at work. He had dinner always in the business meetings

family history

he had the family history of hypertension, coronary artery disease,

Total cholesterol: 198 mg/dl borderline

LDL: 164 mg/dl high

HDL: 26 mg/dl low

TG: 195 mg/dl borderline

Glucose: 148 mg/dl high

, and diet information.

The diet he followed is very much with lots of fat and oils and having less amount of vegetables and fruits, also he was taking dinner most of the in the meetings outside it will have lots of fast food items.

So Mr D has all the risk factors of the noncommunicable diseases such as use of tobacco, use of alcohol, lack of exercise and following unhealthy diet with excess fat and oil and less vegetables. This will account for the modifiable risk factors, apart from that non modifiable risk factors such as family history of hypertension and coronary artery disease.
