Hand Hygiene is one of the foremost technique practiced by all health care professionals. Hand washing not only protects the patient but it also protects the health care professionals from infection. It is one of the vital procedure that must be followed by a nurse who has been in direct contact with the patient. Most of the disease can be prevented from spreading through hand washing. One should handwash before and after the procedure, before having food, after handling with body fluids, after toileting, after handling with the patient document. Motivate the coworkers to do hand wash whenever necessary. Encourage her to use the alcohol pump dispenser which simplifies the hand wash technique. Alcohol-based dispenser removes the germs and protects you from infection. Being in a pediatric unit, hand washing is the utmost importance to prevent cross-contamination.
