Answer #1

The nurse should introduce herself to the child. Make the child be in a comfortable position to alleviate fear and feel safe. Explain to the child that you're going to check the child temperature which takes very few minutes and it is a painless procedure. Always talk in a concise manner which helps the child for easy understanding. Always talk accurate and clear which increases the trust of the child on you. Use simple words for better understanding of the child. Explain that checking of temperature helps to know recovery status and helps to treat for the speedy recovery. Demonstrate to the child where and how you are going to check the child temperature by showing the visual aid. Show the equipment you are going to use. Tell the child that his/ her cooperation is necessary for accurate measurement and it avoids the repeating of the same procedure. Ask the child whether the child is ready before starting a procedure and pay attention to the child's question. After the procedure always thank the child for better cooperation.
