Dr. Patrick also explains that this is the best treatment option for Mr. Shields. There are other pos treatment options, but Rituxan is the recommended drug of choice for treatment of NHL Mr. Shields states that he understands the information. He is hesitant to give informed consent, however, because he has a history of hepatitis B and is concerned about the scrious side effects from the drug. Mr. Shields opts to ref Rituxan treatment.
