Ans) Criminal Law:

- Law that involves the violations of public rights and duties, which create a social harm.

Civil Law:

- Matters that are considered to be private concerns between individuals. Laws dealing with personal injuries, contracts, property as well as administrative laws.

- Criminal law governs violations punishable as offences against the state or government.

- Civil law is concerned with acts that are not criminal but involve relationships with individuals and other account individuals, groups or government agencies.

- The medical assistant needs to understand the difference between the type of law and how they affect the physician's medical practice.

- Medical assistant must personally review those laws that influence medical assistant practice and make sure that they are followed on constant basis, with documentation that prove so if necessary in a courtroom.
