Kidney cancer is also one of the most common cancer found recently.The growth of malignant tumour is called kidney cancer and it is the fastest metastasing cancer (lungs and liver) .This happens through the lymphatic circulations .In initial stage it doesn't produce any symptoms but can be seen as the disease progresses

When a patient with kidney cancer is assessed from head to toe the following can be observed

GENERAL STATUS

  • Fatigue or weakness
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Fever
  • Pain at flank region

VITAL SIGNS

  • Raise in body temperature with no reason
  • Increase in blood pressure

SENSORY ORGANS

  • Eye:aniridia can be the first signs,alteration in vision level
  • Ear:loss of hearing,tinnitus
  • Nose:inverted papilloma,runny nose,nose bleed
  • Throat :discomfort

NECk

  • dark ,velvety skin appearance on the back of neck in the folds

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

  • Dyspnea
  • Coughing up blood

CARDIAC SYSTEM

  • High blood pressure
  • Can note arterial hypertension in these patients

ABDOMEN /GASTROINTESTINAL

  • Anorexia
  • Nausea
  • Presence of lump at flank region
  • Alterations in bowel pattern (if metastasized )
  • Constipation

NEUROLOGICAL

  • Confusion
  • Restlessness
  • Delirium

EXTREMITY

  • numbness in arms,legs,fingers and yoes5

MUSCULOSKELETAL

  • Paleness due to anemia
  • Bone pain
  • Edema ( ankles and foot)
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Rash on Skin,flaking
  • Skin lesion can be assessed

URINARY TRACT

  • Hematuria
  • Change of urine color (cola coloured,pink or red)
  • Painful micturation
  • Decreased urine production
  • UTI
