Explain the purpose and process of appraising research evidence in EBP.
EBP, in which synthesis of evidence is the key element, encompasses both research utilization snd the conduct of research. In addition, EBP supports the appraisal, integration and evaluation of both external evidence and internal evidence to improve care. When there is no external evidence or the evidence us inconsistent health care providers need to partner with scientists to generate generalizable knowledge that supports best practice through the conduct of research.
Steps in the EBP process are
Step1: it is asking a clinical question in the PICOT format. A clinical question which is searchable and answerable creates the context for integrating research findings, clinical judgement and patient preferences. In addition, the question drives the search strategy and the type of evidence required to answer it.
Step 2:It is an efficient search for and collection of evidence based on the question. The question directs the clinician to the database that are the most appropriate
Step 3:it us critically appraising and synthesizing studies found in the research. A successful critical appraisal focus on three essential questions. Are the results of the study valid? What are the results? Are the findings clinically relevsnt to my patients?
Step 4:it maybe different depending on the strength and breadth of the evidence to answer the question. Recommendations from sufficient, strong evidence can be implemented into practice in combination with clinicians expertise and patient preferences.
Step 5:Step 5 of the EBP process is evaluation of identified outcomes in the clinical setting. Outcomes must match the clinical project that has been implemented.

Briefly explain the purpose and process of appraising research evidence for EBP.
Explain the purpose of the evidence hierarchy in nursing research.
We begin our journey into discovering the new world of research and evidence-based practice (EBP) by exploring our past. After completing the required readings and lesson, answer the following: Explain how research has evolved since the Florence Nightingale era. Discuss how research and EBP are different; include how you believe research supports EBP for nursing. Describe one past/historical unethical breach of research conduct; then, share how you would ensure care of a study participant using one ethical or legal research...
How does the focus of research and evidence-based practice (EBP) differ ? Discuss the application of research findings into evidence-based practice .
What is the difference between research and evidence-based practice (EBP) projects? Provide an example of each one and the reason for the difference. Why should health care workers be interested in learning about EBP?
