Pathology

The continuous cause on the GI tract (mouth to rectum) >>exerts reactions on the walls of the GIT>>increased secretion of GI acids (HCL)>>inability of the GI to respond to it over time >>erosion of the gastric layers>> pain (abdomen,epigastric region,left hypochondriac ),nausea,vomiting,chest discomfort>>bleeding>>severe loss of hemoglobin >> anemia, paleness, fatigue or tiredness>>decree in blood leads to cardiac complication

Etiology

Upper GIT

  • Ulcer (peptic),esophageal varices, disease associated with liver (cirrhosis) or cancer will lead to ulceration ,erosion and bleeding
  • Heamorhoids exerts pressure on the rectum causongbfecal occuot blood and rupture of it leads to bleeding
  • IBD leads to inflammation of the intestinal tract ,erosion ,rupture,pain and bleeding

Symptoms

  • Nausea, vomiting should decrease and cease after the acid regulations
  • Pain decrease when the erosion settles
  • Black tarry stools will cease after internal bleeding stops
  • Fatigue,tiredness,paleness,dizziness will be relieved when the anemia is corrected or when hemoglobin returns to normal values
  • Breathing discomfort and chest pain or its discomfort are relieved when there is increase in the blood supply
