Discharge advise I would give a patient with an SPC;
Shower as necessary.
Change the dressing every day. Change the dressing often in case it falls off, is dirty, or absorbs a lot of drainage.
Washing the hands thoroughly before and after all catheter care is a must.
The old dressing should be removed gently you have one.
Do not pull on the tube
If there is too much pressure from the tube on the skin, there will be sores next to the exit site
Use a povidone-iodine swab stick for cleaning under the shield.
